A graduate of the first class at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in 1979, he has since practiced as an associate, a partner, a solo practitioner, employed an associate, and ultimately completed his successful transition. After more than 35 years of successful dental practice, Jay is now a retired dentist serving the profession as a dental practice transition consultant. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, the Practice Valuation Study Group, and is proud to have been invited to be the Mississippi representative for the National Association of Practice Brokers and Consultants. Additionally, Jay serves on the Board of Directors of Merchants and Marine Bank, a South Mississippi and South Alabama Community Bank.

A retired Mississippi prosthodontist and experienced dental educator, Dr. Caswell most recently taught at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, where he was honored numerous times as “teacher of the year” by his dental students. He is a proud recipient of the very prestigious Nelson Order Award and has also taught at the University of Florida School of Dentistry. Additionally, Dr. Caswell holds a master’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in organizational and counseling psychology from William Carey University.
As a practicing dentist for more than 40 years, Dr. Caswell brings a unique perspective to our team in that he’s completed two practice transitions of his own, selling a general dentistry practice in Natchez, and a prosthodontics practice in Gulfport.

Practice Purchase Financing Assistance
Our connections with the dental finance divisions of many national lenders anxious in assisting with the financing of your dental practice acquisition have resulted in successful financing of many recent deals in Mississippi. These banks often finance 100% of the purchase price with an additional 10% added for working capital and at fixed competitive rates for up to 15 years. We gladly assist our buyers in their acquisition of practice purchase financing.
Our flat fees for our services are affordable and usually a fraction of the percentage-of-the deal fee that the large, national practice brokers charge. Our sellers let us know that they appreciate being able to keep more of the purchase value for themselves rather than pay the 10% fees of many of the big box transition companies. Additionally charging a flat fee allows us to be unbiased in our practice valuation since our fee doesn’t increase as the valuation increases. I will be happy to discuss our standard fees. Just ask! Over the years we have found our flat fee approach to be very appealing to our clients. This approach earns credibility and trust from prospective purchasers and lenders.
